Do You Do Waterlogue?

I'm not the most technically savvy gal out there but I do love the Waterlogue app!

 (A favorite image from 2018!)

If you've never "played around with it" you are missing out on some fun. Just download it from the "app store" on your phone and start creating beautiful pictures.

Some photos from your phone library work better than others but figuring that out is part of the fun.

I often forget about it until Christmas rolls around. That's my favorite time to use the app.

And let's face it - there's time to enjoy it this year! It's a great distraction.

Just for fun I'm going to post a few of my favorite "waterlogue" pics along with the original photos I used.

This set up for afternoon treats was part of a fundraiser :)

All about my favorite new wreath and velvet ribbon here and here.

You can see a lot more of our Library decorated for Christmas on Instagram.

Isn't this fun? It's interesting to see which images 'turn out' better!

OK, I seriously need to get back to work and do a little cleaning around the house as well!!
I'm sure you'll see more Waterlogue pics on my IG before the season is over!!

Give it a try!

Like Velvet

Velvet is having a moment at our house this Christmas.

Red velvet is the traditional Christmas look but we don't use red in our Christmas decorating very often so velvet hasn't been a major player in our house. Until now!

This Christmas lots of other colors of velvet are showing up.

First, I found this gorgeous mustard gold velvet ribbon. I had recently purchased this pinecone wreath and I could just "see" them paired together.

Then I saw this gorgeous velvet magnolia wreath. I was smitten.

Then I found out there was a matching swag! Sold!

We used the velvet magnolia swag on the mantel in the family room which was recently freshened up for the Fall One Room Challenge.

Then I decided I wanted wreaths in the windows in the Library (this is what happens when I don't have a deadline to 'finish' decorating!)

So I picked up a couple more of the velvet magnolia wreaths. They are gorgeous and they will store flat so that's a huge bonus!

Here's a night time shot of the velvet wreaths in the Library.

I couldn't wait to use all of these gorgeous velvet items in my decor.

They are rich and elegant but also simple and understated as well.

Do you use velvet ribbons at Christmas time?

Happy December!

 Happy December!

This year we are decorating for "just us" and we are enjoying the process of slowly adding Christmas touches to our home. Mollie and I usually host a "Get Merry with Mimosas" ladies brunch on the first Saturday of December. We have so much fun, we get the house completely decorated and mostly clean ;) for that and then sit back and enjoy the month.
This year (we see you 2020) will be different; the need to be finished decorating quickly is removed and so we are going to embrace that.

So, I will be slowly sharing little spots of holiday cheer as they happen.

Are you finished decorating for Christmas or are you easing in to it?
